British Library – It is the national library of the United Kingdom and the largest library by the number of items cataloged. This library was created on 1 July 1973 as a result of the British Library Act 1972.

Library of Congress – It is a research library that officially serves the United States Congress and is the de facto national library of the US. It is the oldest federal cultural institution in the US. The library housed three buildings on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.

New York Public Library – It is a public library system in New York City. It is the second-largest public library in the USA. It works with the help of private and public funding. An act of the New York Legislature incorporated the Lenox Library in 1870. 

Library and Archives – It is a federal institution tasked with acquiring, preserving, and making Canada’s documentary heritage accessible. It is the fourth largest library in the world. This library reports to Parliament through Steven Guilbeault, the Minister of Canadian Heritage since November 20, 2019. 

Shanghai Library – It is the second largest library in China after the National Library in Beijing. It consists of 24 stories and is 348 feet tall. It is the second tallest library in the world, as well as one of the largest. The library was the first modern library to be established in Shanghai in 1847. 

Russia State Library – It is the national library of Russia and located in Moscow. It is the largest in the country and the fifth-largest in the world for its collection of books. The library was founded on July 1, 1862. 

Royal Library, Denmark – The Royal Library of Denmark situated in Copenhagen. It is the national library of Denmark and the university library of the University of Copenhagen. In 2017, it merged with the state and University Library in Aarhus to form a combined Library. 

National Diet Library – It is the national library of Japan and among the largest libraries in the world. It was established in 1948 for the purpose of assisting members of the National Diet of Japan in researching matters of public policy. The library is similar in purpose and scope to the United States Library of Congress. 

Bibliotheque Nationale de France – It is the national library of France. It is located in Paris. It is the national repository of all that publishes in France and also holds extensive historical collections. This library was founded by Charles V in 1368 at the Louvre Palace. 

German National Library – It is the central archival library and national bibliographic centre for the Federal Republic of Germany. Its task is to collect, permanently archive, comprehensively document and record bibliographically all German and German-language publications since 1913. 

National Library of India – It is the largest library located in Alipore, Kolkata. It is India’s largest library by volume and public record. The National Library is under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The library is designated to collect, disseminate, and preserve printed material produced in India.
