Scholarships from the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT)
Funding for Japanese Government Scholarships is provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) of Japan (Monbukagakusho: MEXT). Before matriculation, applications must be submitted through the host institution in Japan (via university recommendations) or a Japanese embassy or consulate (via embassy recommendations). The JASSO-administered Scholarship for Short-Term Study in Japan is open to international students who have been accepted into a Japanese university under a student exchange arrangement.
