Summary:
In the 1967 War with Israel, Jordan lost control of the West Bank, which subsequently became the primary stronghold for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in their ongoing conflict with Israel. The alliance between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Jordanians, which was prominent during the War of Attrition, was terminated during the violent event known as Black September in Jordan in 1970. This period witnessed a civil war between Jordanians and Palestinians, backed by Syrian Ba’athist forces, resulting in a significant loss of life. Following their defeat, the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) was expelled from Jordan along with a large number of fighters and their families. They subsequently resettled in South Lebanon.
