The IBPS conducts a clerk exam annually on behalf of many prominent banks of India. The banks are – Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank.

The clerk examination has two rounds – Prelims and Mains. This exam doesn’t have an interview because of being an entry-level job. The prelims are only to qualify and are not considered for the final merit list.

The mode of examination is online for both rounds but takes place at examination centers. The applicants are always high in number as many fresh graduates apply for this job. The job position is a stable one with attractive incentives.

IBPS Clerk Salary

  • The average salary for this position is Rs 11,765- Rs 42,020 monthly
  • The basic salary is Rs 11,765 and there are extra incentives in addition to this.
  • The initial salary is usually from Rs 19,461.
  • Promotions and Increments are according to performance.

IBPS Clerk Eligibility

Age Limit and Relaxation

  • Minimum Age – 20 years
  • Maximum Age – 28 years
  • There is age relaxation for certain categories. They are –
  • SC/ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • Individual With Disabilities – 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen – years rendered in defence forces + 3 years (8 years for SC/ST) Widows and divorced women – 9 years
  • Victim of 1984 riots – 5 years
  • Employees of the Union Carbide Factory in Madhya Pradesh state only – 5 years

Nationality and Educational Qualification

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidates can be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
  • A Tibetan refugee residing in India before 1 January 1962.
  • Persons of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, or one of the listed East African countries.
  • A graduate from a recognized university.
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills.
  • Familiar with the local language of the state where applied.

IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern

  • Both the exam takes place online
  • There are a total of 100 multiple-choice questions in prelims
  • The total duration of the prelims paper is 1 hour
  • There are 190 multiple choice questions in the Mains
  • The mains is for 200 marks in total
  • The total time is 2.40 hours for the mains
  • The medium of language can be Hindi or English in both the papers except the english language section
  • There is a deduction of 1/4th marks for an incorrect answer

IBPS Clerk Exam Application and Admit Card

  1. Go to their official website
  2. Open the application form
  3. Complete the application form fill up
  4. Upload the documents, photograph, and signature
  5. Pay the application fees
  6. Print out a copy of the application form

The application fees for the IBPS Clerk examination are –

  • Rs. 175 only for SC/ST and other reserved categories.
  • Rs. 850 only for the general category.

The admit card of the exam is available 10 days before the exam. Candidates can download it online and must carry it for examination. Carry an official Identity proof as well to enter the center.

The details that the card has are – Name, Registration number, Exam date and Centre, Photograph, and General guidelines.

IBPS Clerk Result and Cut Off

The results come out on their official website a few months after the examination. They release a cut off list for both the examinations category and state wise. And for the final result, the institute launches a merit list with the names of the selected aspirants.
