Full Form of LG

There are two full forms of LG. We will see both one by one.

The first full form of LG is Lieutenant Governor and is in charge of a Union Territory in India. India only has 3 LGs at the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Delhi, and Puducherry respectively. Their responsibilities and powers are similar to that a governor has in a state or the President has at the union level.

An LG is chosen every 5-years by the President of India. They can either resign from their post or the President can suspend their term. The present office of LG is in Raj Niwas, Delhi.

Eligibility criteria to become Lieutenant Governor

The eligibility criteria to become an LG is:

• The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
• The candidate should be over 35 years old.
• Shouldn’t be a part of the parliament house/state legislature house.
• Should not have other profitable offices.

What is the full form of LG?

The other full form of LG is Lucky Goldstar, a South Korea-based multinational conglomerate company that provides an array of electronic, telecommunications, and chemical products. It has its headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, South Korea.

• Koo In-Hwoii founded LG (as Goldstar), the first organization in Korea’s plastics market in 1958.
• Produced first Korean radio in 1960.
• Joined forces with Lucky Chemical in 1995 and changed its name to Lucky Goldstar (LG).
• Bought Zenith (US-based television maker), in 1995, and named it LG Electronics.
• Produced the world’s first 60-inch plasma Television in 1998.
• In 2002 created a manufacturing line for CDMA handsets in China.
• In 2003 became the leading maker of CDMA cell phones.
• Gave the world its first 55 inch LCD Television and 71inch plasma Television in 2004.
• World’s fourth-largest cell phone distributor in 2005.
