About GMT

1. Established in 1884, GMT is the standard for all time zones in the world and the global timeline.

2. Evaluated from the Greenwich Meridian Line. Greenwich Mean Time is also known as Greenwich Meridian Time.

3. Though based on earth’s rotation it is not irregular as it considers a fictitious mean and the uniform velocity around the equator.

4. Since it is the cornerstone of world time and an actual reference of time it doesn’t switch with the weather.
