What is the full form of the IVF?

IVF stands for In Vitro Fertilization, a widely used ART (assisted reproductive technologies) process used in women who have clogged or weak Fallopian tubes. Performed under restrictive lab conditions, this process involves the fusing of ova from the woman donor and sperm from the male donor outside their bodies.

The reproduced baby is known as a test-tube baby or zygote. Once the doctors are successful in culturing the embryo, it is placed in the mother’s uterus.

Necessary steps for IVF

Four fundamentals steps can help achieve IVF:

1: Fertility treatments help stimulate the development of eggs. Multiple eggs are necessary as there are chances of some eggs not maturing or fertilizing after recovery.

2: A minor surgical procedure helps to retrieve eggs. This includes a hollow needle being inserted into the body through the pelvic cavity. The doctor then directs this needle with the help of ultrasound scans and removes the ovarian follicles from the ovary. At last, the doctor scans the follicular fluids in order to remove the available eggs.

3: Fertilization of eggs with the man’s sperm takes place in the laboratory. Doctors supervise the eggs to ensure fertilization and division of cells. The doctors then place the embryos in the uterus after they mature for 2 to 6 days.

4: Doctors insert the embryo into the female uterus using a tube or slender, small catheter after it is four to five-day-old. Six to ten days after the recovery of the egg, implementation occurs and the woman undergoes examination after around 9 to 12 days in order to guarantee the successful insertion of the embryo.
