What is the full form of MC?
MC stands for Menstrual Cycle. It is a regular occurrence caused by natural changes in the female reproductive system. The first menstrual cycle usually begins between the ages of twelve to fifteen and continues until the age of 45.
MC provides the female body with hormones to keep people healthy. A cycle starts from the first day of one period until the first day of the next. The average MC is usually for 28 days but can vary from 21 to 35 days in adults to 21 to 45 days in teenagers.
General Symptoms Before the Cycle Begin
Some general symptoms that women face before the beginning of the cycle are:
1. Excruciating stomach cramps especially during the first two days.
2. High chances of losing your appetite and finding all the food items smelly.
3. Might feel nauseous and get a severe headache depending on your age.
4. Chances of experiencing extreme mood swings.
5. Teenagers might get pimples lasting as long as the first phase stays.
Menstrual cycle phases
There are four phases that compose a menstrual cycle:
1. Menstrual phase: On the first day, the uterus lining, prepared for implantation, starts shedding. This shedding lasts for about 3 to 5 days.
2. Follicular phase: The uterus starts preparing for another pregnancy as the mature egg follicle from one of the ovaries releases an egg.
3. Ovulatory phase: Mid-cycle phase in which ovulation takes place. Fertilization means the end of the follicular phase and ovulation period.
4. Luteal phase: Also known as the premenstrual phase, this is the second half of the cycle. It starts after ovulation and ends when one gets their next period.
