RPM full form is Revolutions Per Minute and is a calculation of the rotation frequency of an object i.e., the number of revolutions (turns) an object takes per minute. Thus, it is the rotational speed of an entity around a fixed axis.
RPM Examples
- The modern dental drills of the air turbine have a rotational speed of about 13.3 kHz (800,000 RPM).
- 1 RPM is the speed at which a second-hand conventional analog clock rotates.
- The rotation frequency of the innermost periphery of a disc is 1530 RPM and the rotation frequency of the outer periphery of a disc is 630 RPM.
- The rotational speed of the drum of a washing machine differs from 500 to 2,000 RPM.
