HCL stands for Hindustan Computers Limited. Established in 1976, it is an Indian multinational IT company with its head office in Noida. It was one of India’s original IT start-ups and is the founder of multiple modern computing creations like the introduction of PCs focused on an 8-bit microprocessor in 1978.

• HCL Technologies is currently a subsidiary of Vamasundari Delhi owned by Shiv Nadar who holds the majority of shares in most of the companies in the HCL group.
• Acquired a few IBM products in the areas of R&D, marketing, sales, delivery, and support on 1 July 2019. It also took complete ownership of BigFix, AppScan, Notes Domino, Commerce, Connections, Digital Experience, and Unica.
