CBSE full form is Central Board of Secondary Education. It is a national-level education board for private and public schools in India. The Indian Union Government operates and regulates it. CBSE demands that all schools under it adopt the NCERT curriculum only.

There are around 20,299 schools in India that are CBSE affiliated and there are 220 schools in 28 international countries that are CBSE affiliated. The following table gives some important information about CBSE.

Eligibility criteria to attend CBSE Examination.

CBSE carries out a test for class ten students called AISSE. For class twelve students it carries out the test called AISSCE. As for teacher recruitment, it carries out the test called National Eligibility Test (NET) for teacher recruitment.

1. Delhi: Covers Delhi NCT and Foreign Schools.

2. Chennai: Covers of Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Daman and Diu, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Telangana.

3. Guwahati: Coverss Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim.

4. Ajmer: Covers Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

5. Panchkula: Covers Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.

6. Allahabad: Covers Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

7. Patna: Covers Jharkhand and Bihar.

8. Bhubaneswar: Covers West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.

9. Thiruvananthapuram: Covers Lakshadweep and Kerala.
