Full form of USB is Universal Serial Bus. It is a common platform that allows devices to communicate with the host controller (like a computer). It comes in handy when we want to link the computer to an electronic system and we can also use them for networking, contact, or power supply purposes.
USB is highly productive and reduces workload and power consumption. It also helps transfer data and electrical power supply between peripherals devices and external devices.
History of USB
In 1994 seven companies, namely, Microsoft, Compaq, Intel, Nortel, DEC, IBM, and NEC came together and developed USB. Its aim was to simplify work and make it comfortable for the user to connect external devices to a computer system.

In order to establish a connection between a USB and a computer, insert the USB into the USB port of the system. After insertion, the system detects the device automatically and there is no need of rebooting the computer after inserting the USB. A USB comes in various sizes:
- Micro size
- Mini size
- Standard size
