What is the full form of PCC?
PCC stands for Police Clearance Certificate, a legal certificate issued by a government body or police department to Indian Passport holders when they apply for residential status, long-term visas, immigration, or for working abroad. It certifies that the applicant has no criminal record.
This is not compulsory for the people who go overseas for tourism are not expected to get this certificate. The generation of PCC takes about a week.

The requirements for a PCC are:
- Address proof
- Indian passport
- The applicant’s present address should match the address stated in the passport and other documentary evidence.
Process for applying PCC in India
One of the ways to receive PCC in India is through Online Form Submission. The steps for this process are:
1. Sign up on the Passport Seva Online Portal and click on “Register Now” on the Home Page.
2. Log in to the portal using the Login ID provided and press on the “Apply for PCC” button.
3. Submit the necessary information and pay online to get the appointment.
4. Press the “Print Application Receipt” button and print a receipt containing the Application Reference Number or Appointment Number.
5. Visit the stated Passport Seva Kendra or Regional Passport Office along with relevant original documents.
