What is the full form of ABS?
ABS stands for Anti-lock Braking System that is a protective and anti-skid braking system. This system is more common in land vehicles such as bikes, trucks, buses, and cars. Apart from these, you can also find it in aircraft. It prevents the tires from locking and skidding when brakes are applied during an emergency shutdown.
It makes sure that tires can retain the tr-active connection with the ground. When encountering an unexpected barrier the tires of the vehicle don’t lock up when the brake is applied. This helps the rider avoid crashing into the obstacle.
Important points about ABS
1. The system uses the principle of threshold braking and cadence.
2. An automatic device that performs more efficiently and at a much quicker pace as compared to most of the drivers.
3. The system has become increasingly successful and sophisticated over time.
4. The modern system of ABS modifies a vehicle’s front-to-rear braking system errors along with preventing the locking of tires under braking.
5. Also known as the electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control system, electronic stability control, or emergency brake assist.
