In Hadoop, to increase the replication factor we need to edit the configuration file hdfs-site.xml and change the value of dfs.replication property to desired value.
<property>
<name>dfs.replication</name>
<value>(desired value)</value>
</property>

The Replication factor default value is 3, however for cluster in Pseudo distributed mode, the replication factor Can be only 1 despite its default value.
The replication factor value is configurable in hdfs-site.xml file.You have to change dfs.replication to a desired value.
This file is usually found in the conf folder of the Hadoop installation directory.
<property>
<name>dfs.replication<name>
<value>3<value>
<description>Block Replication<description>
<property>
Changing the dfs.replication property in hdfs-site.xml will change the default replication for all files placed in HDFS.
