Let\u2019s find out further.<\/p>\n<h3>About &#8220;How to Develop an Alarm Clock using Python&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>The objective of our project is to implement an alarm clock using Python. Python consists of some very innovative libraries such as datetime and tkinter which help us to build the project using the current date and time as well as to provide a user interface to set the alarm according to the requirement in 24-hour format.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also important to note that the alarm clock we&#8217;re building is a desktop application, which differs from the ones that work on web browsers. <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinealarmkur.com\/en\/\">Online alarm clocks<\/a> like this one run in web browsers and typically rely on JavaScript for their real-time functionality. While our Python project requires knowledge of GUI programming, creating a browser-based version would need <a href=\"https:\/\/data-flair.training\/courses\/free-web-development-course-hindi\/\">web development skills<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n<h3>Prerequisites<\/h3>\n<p>This project requires good knowledge of Python and GUI (Graphic User Interface). Python when combined with Tkinter provides a fast and easy way to create GUI applications. Tkinter provides a powerful object-oriented interface to the Tk GUI toolkit. It helps us to create a dialog box with any information that we want to provide or get from the users.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.python.org\/3\/library\/datetime.html\"><strong>Datetime<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>time<\/strong> modules in python help us to work with the dates and time of the current day when the user is operating python and to manipulate it too.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Winsound<\/strong> module provides access to the basic sound playing machinery provided by Windows platforms. This is useful to generate the sound immediately when a function is called.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>2. Create a while loop:<\/h4>\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"null\">def alarm(set_alarm_timer):\r\n    while True:\r\n        time.sleep(1)\r\n        current_time = datetime.datetime.now()\r\n        now = current_time.strftime(\"%H:%M:%S\")\r\n        date = current_time.strftime(\"%d\/%m\/%Y\")\r\n        print(\"The Set Date is:\",date)\r\n        print(now)\r\n        if now == set_alarm_timer:\r\n            print(\"Time to Wake up\")\r\n        winsound.PlaySound(\"sound.wav\",winsound.SND_ASYNC)\r\n        break\r\n\r\ndef actual_time():\r\n    set_alarm_timer = f\"{hour.get()}:{min.get()}:{sec.get()}\"\r\n    alarm(set_alarm_timer)\r\n<\/pre>\n<p><strong>Explanation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Define a function named as <strong>alarm()<\/strong> which takes the argument of (<strong>set_alarm_timer<\/strong>).It contains a while loop with a Boolean function True which makes the program automatic to work.<\/li>\n<li><strong>time.sleep(1)<\/strong> halts the execution of the further commands given until we get the time value from the user later in the code and returns the background thread of the clock time going on at a regular interval.<\/li>\n<li>Get the current time using <strong>current_time<\/strong> which takes the argument of <strong>datetime.datetime.now()<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>now is used to print the time and date is used to print the current date by <strong>string conversion<\/strong> using <strong>strftime()<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Define another function here named <strong>actual_time()<\/strong> which takes in the user value for setting the alarm in the string format. The same argument of (<strong>set_alarm_timer<\/strong>) as alarm before to execute the while loop which we further use while making GUI.<\/li>\n<li>If loop suggests that if the user input time <strong>set_alarm_timer<\/strong> matches with the while loop ongoing time now, the message is printed as\u201d <strong>Time to Wake up<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><strong>winsound.SND_ASYNC<\/strong> plays the system generated sound as soon the condition satisfies, acting as a reminder for the alarm clock.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>3. We pass on the heading to mention the time format for 24 hours using <strong>time_format<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The second heading is given above the user input boxes for the labeling to be \u201cHour Min Sec\u201d using <strong>addTime<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Just to make the dialog box look funkier, adding another label as \u201c<strong>when to wake you up<\/strong>\u201d using <strong>setYourAlarm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>As we have already converted the current time in the string before (actual time), the variables we initialize for the user input dialog boxes are in <strong>StringVar()<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Finally make the input boxes such as <strong>hourTime<\/strong>, <strong>minTime,<\/strong> and <strong>secTime<\/strong> which takes the entry of the time the user wants to set the alarm on in 24-hour format.<\/li>\n<li>Submit takes the command of the defined function <strong>actual_time<\/strong> and executes the clock as it acts as a set button to start the program.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clock.mainloop()<\/strong> is the basic and the last command was given to compile all the previous commands with their basic settings of color, font, width, axis, etc. and displays the window as soon as the program is run.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Yay!!
