The QlikView Data Files are:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 align=\"justify\">i. Delimited Files<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><strong>Delimited files<\/strong> are also known as CSV files which stands for <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>C<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">omma <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>S<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">eparated <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>V<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">alues. In CSV files the field names and field values separated by a comma or a semicolon or tab. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">These files also refer to as delimited text or just text files as it contains plain text. Fixed Record Files<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Fixed Record files have the data records or rows of equal length or byte size.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"> In such files, the length of records is fixed and can specify in the script command by (fix n) expression, where n is the number of bytes or characters deciding the record length. The fixed files stores in the system with extension \u2018.fix\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 align=\"justify\">iii. Dif Files<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Dif files are called <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>D<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">ata <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>I<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">nterchange <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>F<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">ormat files. Such is said to be of predominant use in import\/export tasks. They can only contain the data of a single spreadsheet. The extension \u2018.dif\u2019 use for Dif files.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 align=\"justify\">iv. Excel (XLS) Files<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Microsoft Excel files, also known as XLS files can load into QlikView. More precisely, XLS stands for E<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>x<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">ce<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>l<\/b><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>s<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">preadsheet. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">As the name suggests XLS files store data create in MS Excel document. Both \u2018.htm\u2019 or \u2018.html\u2019 is acceptable as extensions for web files.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 align=\"justify\">vii. QVD Files<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">QVD files are the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>Q<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">lik<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>V<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">iew <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>D<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">ata files that are unique to QlikView and can only read or write in QlikView. A QVX file is a file format that contains metadata about the data table along with the actual data to load in that table.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"> QVX use in QlikView to ensure high performance while data loading as it will be faster to load data using QVX files by reading the instructions contain in the metadata about the structure of the table. The file extension is \u2018.qvx\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 align=\"justify\">ix. XML Files<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">XML is an extension, which uses for files called E<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>x<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">tensible <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>M<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">arkup <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>L<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">anguage. Such files contain information about a data file along with the file\u2019s data. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">This file can share via the web. Much like HTML, XML format also uses tags to describe the data. The file extension is \u2018.xml\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 align=\"justify\">x. KML Files<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">KML stands for <strong>K<\/strong>eyhole <strong>M<\/strong>arkup <strong>L<\/strong>anguage. This file format uses for defining and containing geographical data which use by earth browsers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"> Similar to XML, KML use tag-based data describing the structure and used case-sensitive tags. There is a standard set of KML tags and only those must use to describe data in a KML file. The file extension is \u2018.kml\u2019. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 align=\"justify\">QlikView Load Data from Files<\/h3>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Data from any of the above discussed ten files can load into QlikView from the Script Editor.
