Moreover, it aggregates and analyzes billions of rows present in the HBase tables.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Databases breakdown<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There is a time when relational databases break down, then HBase shines in the picture.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Fast processing<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As compared to traditional dataBase, data reading and processing in HBase will take a small amount of time.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Failover support and load sharing<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HBase is automatically recovered because HDFS is internally distributed and automatically recovered and HBase runs on top of HDFS. Also, we have this failover facility, using RegionServer replication.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Scalability<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Scalability is supported in both linear and modular form, in HBase.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Schema-less<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is no concept of fixed columns schema in HBase because it is schema-less. style=\"font-weight: 400\">At the time when only one HMaster is used, there is a possibility of failure.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>No transaction support<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In HBase, there is no support for the transaction.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>No handling of JOINS in database<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Instead of the database itself, JOINs are handled in <strong>MapReduce<\/strong> layer.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Sorted only on key<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As <strong>RDBMS<\/strong> can be indexed on some arbitrary field,\u00a0HBase is indexed and sorted only on key.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Built-in authentication<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There is no\u00a0permissions or built-in authentication.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Not a perfect replacement<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since HBase does not support some of the traditional model&#8217;s features, we cannot expect completely to use HBase as a replacement for traditional models.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>No support SQL structure<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As there\u00a0is no support for SQL structure,\u00a0 it cannot contain any query optimizer.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Unpredictable latencies<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While we integrate\u00a0\u00a0HBase with Map-reduce jobs, it will result in unpredictable latencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Memory issues on the cluster<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In some time memory issues on the cluster, HBase is integrated with <strong>P<\/strong><strong>ig<\/strong> and <strong>Hive<\/strong> jobs results.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Problems with HBase<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Apart from HBase Pros and Cons, there are some issues, such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is not possible to implement any cross data operations and joining operations, in HBase.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When we want to migrate data from RDBMS external sources to HBase servers, HBase would require a new design.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HBase is really tough for querying.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To access the data from HBase, there are slow improvements in the security for the different users.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There is no support for partial keys completely in HBase.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It permits only one default sort per table.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To store the large size of binary files in HBase is very difficult.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HBase&#8217;s storage will limit real-time queries as well as sorting.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In HBase, default indexing is not present. That means, to perform indexing functionality in HBase, programmers have to define several lines of code or script.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In terms of Hardware requirements and memory blocks allocations, it is expensive, such as:\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> For distributed cluster environments, it is important that more servers should be installed. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Also, it requires high memory machines, performance wise.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>It also has higher costing and maintenance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>So, this was all about HBase Pros and Cons.
