It offers an ISI mark i.e, a goods certification mark recognized throughout the Indian sub-continent.<\/p>\n<h3>History Of ISI<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Founded on January 6, 1947.<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Lal C. Verman became its first Director in June 1947.<\/li>\n<li>The Bureau of Indian Standards is now known as ISI and sets the standard of quality for products. It gives a certification mark to a product after verifying its quality and standard.<\/li>\n<li>By 1986 legislation, BIS can provide certification to products.<\/li>\n<li>Without an ISI mark, sellers cannot sell their goods in India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>List of general products with ISI mark<\/h3>\n<p>1. Electrical device<\/p>\n<p>2. Drinking water and packaged foods<\/p>\n<p>3. Kitchen equipment and appliances<\/p>\n<p>4. LPG cylinders and LPG valves<\/p>\n<p>5. Thermometers<\/p>\n<p>6. Portland cement<\/p>\n<p>7. Automotive tires<\/p>\n<p>8. Packaged Grocery items<\/p>\n<h3>Features of fake ISI mark<\/h3>\n<p>Several fake items in the market use ISI labels without any certification. Thus, it is necessary that customers select goods very carefully. Some of the characteristics of fake ISI labels are:<\/p>\n<p>1. Doesn\u2019t have the seven-digit license number.<\/p>\n<p>2. At the top of ISI, the label has an IS number denoting the number of Indian standards for a specific product.The second full form of ISI is <strong>Indian Statistical Institute<\/strong>, a private college that has its branches in Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Tezpur. Established in Kolkata on December 17, 1931, by Professor P.C. Master of Technology in Computer ScienceThe third full form of ISI is <strong>Inter-Service Intelligence<\/strong>, a Pakistan-based intelligence organization. It is a leading intelligence agency that ensures intelligence evaluation and national security whose headquarters is in Islamabad, Pakistan.
