Patients in this division suffer from the severest and life-threatening diseases or injuries and need continuous and constant supervision from a team of specialist physicians and nurses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This team of specialists specializes in the treatment of life-threatening illnesses and severe injuries. Other names for ICU are CCU (Critical Care Unit) and ITU (Intensive Treatment Unit).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Injuries &amp; diseases that need different ICU treatment<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The staff in ICUs is highly trained and specialized in multiple fields. There are respiratory therapists, physical therapists, pharmacists, anesthesia specialists, and many more.
