What is non dfs used in hdfs web console

  When we visit hdfs web console ie localhost:50070, in the statistics there is one information called non-dfs used. what exactly is non dfs used ? what type of data is stored in this section ?

  Non DFS used is calculated using following formula
```
NonDFSU used = Configured Capacity - DFS Used - DFS Remaining
```
  All these parameters are also displayed in the HDFSweb console
  
  The Non-DFS Used value does not represent the true disk space usage by non Hadoop files instead of its an indicative value which is derived using the given formula.
