In case of namenode failure, standby namenode will takeover the system from the loss point,so are the updates also made in standby namenode ,at the same time when they are made to namenode?

Yes metadata also replicated to standby name-node. Metadata contains things like the owners of files, permission bits, block location, size etc.
Name-node is Single-Point-of-Failure. To overcome this issue standby-name-node comes into picture which receives
updates of the file system meta-data, apply them to its memory state and persist them on disks just like the name-node does.
